Free Ping Test — Check Your Ping, Speed & Game Latency
Free online ping checker and speed test — measure latency, jitter, packet loss and bandwidth right in your browser.
Popular Game Ping Tests
Run a ping test for the game you play — each page compares server regions, explains latency thresholds, and includes title-specific tuning tips.
Is Your Ping Good?
Got your number above? Find out what it actually means — which games it affects, what causes it, and how much of it you can realistically remove.
Why Is My Speed Lower Than Expected?
If your result is below your plan's advertised speed, don't panic — the cause is usually one of these, not your line.
You're on Wi-Fi
The #1 reason. Walls, distance and interference can keep wireless far below your line capacity — gigabit plans often measure 100-500 Mbps over Wi-Fi. Use an Ethernet cable for accurate results.
Read the guide →Distance to the test server
Every test measures the path between you and a test server. If your ISP routes traffic abroad, ping rises and speed drops. Check the "Test Server" field under your results to see where you connected.
Read the guide →Other devices sharing your network
A TV streaming 4K, a console downloading a game, or a phone backing up to the cloud all share your bandwidth. Pause other devices while testing.
Read the guide →Modem / router limits
Old or entry-level ISP-supplied modems may not sustain high speeds. If your hardware is 5+ years old, update the firmware or ask your ISP for a replacement.
Read the guide →Your device's own limits
Older laptops may have 100 Mbps Ethernet ports; phone and tablet antennas rarely measure gigabit. The most accurate result comes from a modern computer on a cable.
Peak hours
Between 7 PM and 11 PM you share infrastructure with your whole neighborhood. If speed only drops in the evening, ISP congestion is the cause.

Quick answers about ping testing
How does a browser ping test work?
We time small HTTPS requests from your browser to nearby cloud endpoints and report the round trip — a close real-world latency estimate, not an ICMP ping.
What counts as good ping?
Under 50 ms feels responsive in most online games. Consistency matters just as much, so keep an eye on jitter and packet loss too.
Why does my in-game ping differ?
Games measure the route to their own servers with their own protocol, so the two numbers are related but rarely identical.
